The Temple of The
Holy Spirit
  • Jane Gemmill, R.N., C.N.M.
2
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you have been bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in you spirit, which are God’s.

                                                       I Corinthians 6:19-20

The Greatest Commandment

  •     You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind’.                             Mathew 22: 36-37

6
Renew Your Mind
  • Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.    Romans 12:2
7

Walk According to the Spirit
  • Do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
  •                                                 Romans 8:4-5

8
Keep His Word
  •    And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on you gates.
  •                                                      Deuteronomy 6:4-9

9
How do we love the Lord with all our mind?
  • Renew your mind.  Be transformed.
  • Set your mind on the things of the Spirit.
  • Keep His Word in  your hearts.
  • Teach His Word diligently to your children.
  • Speak His Word.
  • Cover your house with His Word.

10
Live As His Daughters
  • For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by who we cry out.  “Abba Father.”
  • Romans 8:13-15
11
Be Still and Listen
  • The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
  • Romans 8:16-17

12
The Spirit Will Guide Us
  • The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we pray for as we ought but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
  • Romans 8:26
13
Seek the Wisdom of God
  •     Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
  • I Corinthians 2:7-10

14
How Do We Love The Lord With All Our Soul?

  • Be still and listen to the Holy Spirit.
  • Seek wisdom of God.
  • Be Spiritually discerning
  • Live by the Spirit - not by our flesh.
15
God’s Measure of Beauty
  • Do not let your adornment be merely outward - arranging the hair, wearing gold or putting on fine apparel - rather,  let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
  • I Peter 3:3-4

16
GOD CREATED WOMAN
  • Last living being to be called into existence
  • Fashioned directly by the Creator’s own hand, not from dust as Adam, but designed from living flesh and bone.

21
MENTAL HEALTH
Use your gifts
  • Do not think of one self more highly than one ought to think,  but think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.  For as we have may members in one body but all the members do not have the same function, so we being many, are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.  Romans 12:3-6

Be a Servant
  • Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.  And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.                  Mathew 20:26
